Christina Kostopoulos, MsED, NCC
(She/Her)

Don’t we all want to be seen and heard, without judgment? We all do as humans do, including myself. I use a warm, relatable approach to encourage my clients to be themselves.

I incorporate a holistic approach to therapy, utilizing Feminist Theory, Psychodynamic Theory, Narrative Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. I am open to incorporating spiritual elements, such as tarot and astrology to help folx who are interested in non-traditional approaches to psychology.

“There are many reasons to treat each other with great tenderness. One is the sheer miracle that we are here together on a planet surrounded by dying stars. One is that we cannot see what anyone else has swallowed.”

-Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer

Training and Certifications:

  • Master of Education – CUNY Hunter College
  • Bachelor of Science- NYU
  • National Certified Counselor – NBCC
  • Grief Certified Educator

When I talk to people about my education and career, I can be met with the question: “Why?” The answer is simple really, “why not?” Mental and behavioral health are important, valid, and are integral parts of our lives and as such, treatment and resources for mental health should be normalized and supported. Through my work, I get the privilege to help others find and/or strengthen and empower the parts of themselves that are paramount to their being, their relationships, and their lives.

Focus Areas:

I incorporate an anti-diet culture lens in my approach to working with disordered eating, body image, and disconnection from mind and body.

Grief is universal but societally misunderstood. I hold a space to hear your grief, whether anticipated, apathetic, or complex.

My practice is affirming of all identities and cultures, including LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent identifying.
